Own Your Value

As a mental health provider I had always been more comfortable charging less. I realized my Mother had been my model as she too, could have charged more but didn’t.  As a child growing up in Rio, I remember her complaining about what she was paid by Brazilian families. She was a private children’s English teacher and despite her expertise and popularity she left it up to the families to decide her fees.

The result of my Mother’s low fees led to financial insecurity for herself, my sister and I.

Many years later I entered a quest to reinvent myself into a more self-trusting person. During my transformation, with the help of the Option Institute, I was surprised that doubling what I had been charging my clients seemed doable.

While marketing my practices and listening to a coaching call, I became deeply inspired by the idea of working with women who were frustrated and wanted to own their value by charging more. It didn’t take too long to discover this was a widespread problem for women in today’s business world.
